My Xmas-New Year Break - Tablescapes

So over the break between Xmas and New Year I took the opportunity to paint my Tablescapes Urban Streets table. I have received 32 tiles - 16 unscathed and 16 ruined - so I can make a 8' x 4' table if necessary. However the goal was to have a variable 6' x 4' table.

Here are some pictures of the completed tiles made up as a 7' x 4'. I still need to add rust to the metal plus some water effects.

However I'm really happy with it. Lots of pics over the page.

  1. Wow! they look fantastic! Did you mask off the cracks where they intersect the center lines or just paint the center lines and paint/touch up the cracks afterwards?

    1. Made a one square mask and then used it to overspray base. Roped Jack into doing - whole board took less than two hours to "checkerboard".

I'm guessing total work time for the board was 10-12 hours

    3. I actually meant the middle of the road markings vs cracks in the tarmac :)

    4. Sorry. Made a mask for centre lines then brushed paint on using stipling technique. Didn't need to touch up.

      Putting up tutorial later today

    1. Yep, that's the next step. I have buildings on base boards which I'll probably retrofit to this board. They are all made and painted...just need some touch-ups

  3. Agree Pete, looks great. Is that all brushwork using test pots or is it a mix of spraycans?

    1. All the base is spray cans bar road. That was brush then overspray.
