Mournival Challenge - Jasper Ford (January)

1. Paint a new 40k army

Working on fixing up my white scars that I stripped down from 3 colour minimum - I tried to go for an old gold and steel look on the judiciar to make his big sword look nice and beaten and brutal and chucked some cross hatching on his cloak to try and get some texture which is something I haven’t tried before.

The assault marines are the 4th combat squad in the army; I’ve just finished off glazing their reds and am moving on to chipping, weathering and freehand now. Hopefully blade guard and some basic intercessors to come next week.

Hobby - 2021 "The Mournival" Hobby Challenge

A couple of years ago I set up a Facebook group for local 40k gamers to share hobby and comment. It's a private group called "The Mournival" - after the Warrior Lodge in the Sons of Horus. This is the successor to a previous forum incarnation aimed at the same output.

I have seen other hobby groups come up with a set of resolutions/challenges to encourage the hobby output of their groups.

For The Mournival, I have come up with a series of ten hobby goals that members might like to complete this year. They are designed to target a variety of hobby aspect. The intent is that people can do whichever they want to do - "You are in charge of your enjoyment".

Members will where they want to participate and at the end of each month send their output to me to publish on this site.

The challenges are:
