NiCon Lists Released

The list for NiCon have been released and can be downloaded from here

I will be looking at them in detail in the next few days and will post my thoughts.

It is incredibly sad that two people have decided that it is okay to spoil other people's weekend by bringing Dwarfs.

  1. I'd ban then from future tournaments Pete.

    1. All shit aside, looking at Simon's list sucks all fun out of life

Simon - you're a nice guy but your list is seriously an enjoyment black hole

  2. Dwarves prevent new people from picking up the Hobby...

  3. Don't worry as I'm the umpire, Neil and Simon are going to play eachother six times over the course of the tournament.

  4. Bloody glad I am not travelling that far for 1in6 chance of taking a 10-10 borefest. No dwarfs is an interesting idea for comp.

    1. try looking at the lists before you make stupid comments. One dwarf list has more combat in it then most.

    2. Bugger, here we go again.
Its meant to be a stealth, ninja dwarf list, so nobody sees it coming until its too late.
Now I want everybody to ignore all the above remarks.
      I am not here.

    3. John, to be honest, I've only ever had a 10-10 tie about three times with my Dwarf in over a year and half of playing with them, and playing quite extensively. All modesty aside I usually end up tabling my opponent/beating him or she quite soundly or I lose in the ranges of 11-9 - 15-5.

I will proudly boast that I suck the life and fun out of everyone in the hobby! But I sure as hell don't like ties, just like everybody else.

Because we all know.... ties are like kissing your sister.

    4. Better than not kissing anyone at all? God those must be some long winters back home Simon

    5. WAIIIT a minute Jeff, your saying you rather kiss your sister then no one at all!

You sure your not from the South...?

    6. I would rather play any type of Dwarfs than Lizo Skink Cloud.

    7. I quite like playing skink clouds, game is always dynamic and you have to think and be aggressive.

I guess I have draws vs the usual dwarf lists as I know that unless they make a mistake in deployment it will be some kind of loss to me and I would try and avoid them outside of tournamwent. If I go across the table so only option is to deploy in lines with characters behind buildings and take the 10-10.

I'd run at the other Dwarf list unless all the miners started on the table.

    8. Agree with Sam. At least you get to play against Dwarves instead of spending all your time in the cloud's flee and "have these ones shot yet?" phases.

If you can't cope with the organ guns, you haven't got enough Skullcrushers! ;)

  5. Having played an uncomped Midas touch party slaan in a building double flee skink cloud list in the last tournament Dwarves taking my toys off seems like fun :)

  6. At least they will do it honestly, with cannons to the face, rather than throwing 6 dice at transmutation until they finally roll that 6?

    1. I hardly ever 6 dice transmutation, there's rarely a point in 6 dicing spells with a party slaan that generates 8 million power dice :P. Better to cast 18+ spells a game than 6 lol.

James let my Final Trans through every time so that he would have dice to dispel Searing Doom and Hounds, Ross made a similar decision.

    2. This would be the Ross that ended up with the golden Daemon Prince, right?

    3. And the James that ended up with a Golden Demon Prince, as well.

Really, a good tournament for those who like their generals immobile and valuable.

6-dice is overkill for xmute, right? 15+ to cast? :P

    4. exactly, unless you've already killed everything with an armour value. Then six-dice that mofo!

  7. HA HA just wait Pete - if Simon gets getting the results he has, and he'll only get better, you'll have to put up with a Dwarf in the Masters...

    1. ??? Not sure what you mean. I see Simon having a lot of 8-12 scores and then he beats the person playing their first event 20-0. Not sure how many Top 20 players he is scoring more than 10 against.

      Delete
    2. Yes but your not applying Dwarven scoring - a 10-10 is really a 20-0 and an 8-12 is in fact an 18-2 when your a Dwarf.

Maybe Im just getting carried away by the fact that he actually wins games

    3. How is losing 8-12 like winning 18-2? Not a fan of this way of thinking.

  8. How many cannons at Nicon all up?

    1. What does it matter? Its not like you have a 600pt lord on Dragon with no ward save....oh wait.

    3. If it makes into combat, it should be quite effective. -1 to hit is huge.

    4. Only the lord of course, but I hear you. Let us all make sacrifices to the big four, and hope he makes it to some combat! And doesn't contract rubberclaw disease!

    5. I have to Bolt Throwers that could potentially do the trick, but if we play I think we should just send the Carno-Lord and the Dragon-lord into the center and fight it out honorably.
