I've sent off an order to Maelstrom and I'm picking up:
The Doomflayer
The Warpgrider
Tretch Craventail
I also intend picking up sets of the Skaven cards, the Heraldry book and Ikit Claw from my local GW.
Looking at the marquee releases, the Hell Pit Abomination and the Plagueclaw Catapult/WLC, I'm not sure the new models are as good as my current conversions so I'll be sticking with them for the meantime.
Today I got a parcel from James Milner in the UK which has six of the metal Skaven Assassins in it. This will let me fill out my Gutter Runner units totally with assassins. Once all this is painted I'm looking to take army wide pictures.
Over the past week I've painted up a new Seer, a Screaming Bell and six weapons teams. I do have 120 clan rats to paint but honestly can't face them at the moment!

ReplyDeleteI know that a 5kg box of metal Skaven broke me back in the day. I can't wait to see the pics, but good luck on the grind to paint 120 Skaven!

ReplyDeleteI've already painted 200 Clanrats and 220 Slaves so I know the grind.
The thing is I know I'll paint these last 120 but I just can't face it at the moment :-(
This week it is assassins, next week Rat Ogre Bonebreaker and Nurglitch on pox rat plus Spinetail. At that point I'll only have the Doom Flayer, Warp Grinder, Tretch and Ikit to do....plus 6 Rat Ogres.
So by month end, it is either them or Iron Warriors.......I don't know what I fear most.

ReplyDeleteThe lure of the Horny Rat is strong, especially with those new Doom Wheel and the other cool stuff that's come out. I'm a big fan of the new Ikit Claw!
Iron Warriors ... I'll never paint a Boltgun Metal army AGAIN. Or use nine Obliterators.
At the moment, I am on a big hobby rush thanks to New Year's resolutions, but I'd have to get rid of all my Wood Elves and Chaos Warriors and heaps of Ogres (stashed in Dave's garage!) to justify another new army. What's that? That many finished armies? Heavens forfend ...
