New Zealand Teams Championship 2014 - Date and Venue Confirmed

I'm pleased to announce that I have set a date and secured a venue for the 2014 New Zealand Teams Championship for Warhammer Fantasy.

They will be held on the 1st and 2nd March 2014 in Wellington. The venue for the NZTC will be the newly refurbished Khandallah Town Hall in the centre of Khandallah.

The hall has just celebrated its centenary and has undergone a multi-million dollar refit.

It is a larger hall than that which was used this year. I am hopeful that we will be able to accommodate 16 teams (64 players). This is based on the expected increase in demand given the very positive reviews from this year's event.

A larger venue comes at a higher cost (more than twice what I paid this year) as the hall charges commercial rates even for community groups. This will require a slightly higher entry fee - $200 per team of 4 ($50 each) rather than this year's $150. I'm hoping people understand this and that the aim is to ensure a high quality venue, trophies etc.

The hall is next to 2 cafes, 2 takeaway shops and has a pub within 50 metres.

I will be looking to organise a function at the pub on the Saturday night to ensure that there is the requisite amount of socialising!

All pretty exciting from my end

  4. I suspect there will be a Sundering of the Omani Team as Kenny tries to cajole his Shirts Off Teammates over.

Auckland wargaming politics means both Nerdymen and NZHammered will all fall out with one another at least twice before registration.

This means the way is clear for the von Trapps once again.....hopefully Cousin Joe is free that weekend.

    1. No politics Pete this end… It could well be Nerdymen 1&2 as well as NZ Hammered we will see. Being a Nerdymen as well allegiances would have been tested but as we both podiumed this year we’ll have to come back..
I though Joe was dropped Pete for his awful predictions?! Has Mal been exiled from the family?

  5. I think Team NZ hammered definitely need a name change to Team DILF but other than that why would you change a team that podiumed with 1 player (me) being totally under prepared?

Pub and a bit more social time on Saturday suits me down to the ground. Good work Mr. Dunn.

  6. Great....finally The League of Extraordinary Nerdymen can plot to claim what is rightfully theirs. Nerdymen 1&2 is definitely on the cards, even without Jimmy (without Jimmy could be a good thing as The Nerdymen don't officially have a budget for strippers....yet).

  7. Kapiti might bring 1 or even 2 teams...with a bit more experience this time too.
