Runefang VI Results

Runefang VI was held over the weekend in Wellington. It attracted 27 players using 2400 point armies battling over five games. The Rulebook scenarios (sans Battle for the Pass) were used.

Here are the results:
Best Newcomer: Sam Campbell

Best Sport: James Millington

Best Presented Army: John Tailby (Dark Elves)

Thanks to all the participants and special thanks to Peter Williamson who gave up his weekend to umpire.

See you all at Horned Rat VI in June.

    1. Oh it's no achievement James. As you've told me any muppet can win with Skaven. It's just a matter of submitting your list and turning up :-)

    2. well I didn't want to say anything mate.. regardless of the book or (insert net) list you still have to play extremely well to only drop 6 points over 5 rounds. The chaps down there rolled over nicely for you though. Not sure how Sam got 0!

    3. I told you, Skaven are a horrible matchup for my army. Especially when pushed around by a good player.

    4. Skaven army runs itself Sam....player skill is irrelevant. I know, I heard it on the Internet :-)

    5. Player skill is the main factor, but strong army books are like a performance-enhancing drug. They give you an additional edge, but you have to have the performance to start with.

I'd probably have done better with your list than I did with my Dwarves, because Skaven are generally stronger. But I'd not have done as well as you, because I'm not as skilled as you. Simple really.

  2. Yeah, whatever you're having on your Weetbix in the morning is working for you. 19 points a game average is pretty hard to beat..... You beat Dave and Sam Campbell too, so no submaring to victory. Did you play Sam Whitt too?

    Well done.

    1. Yeah he played Sam as well in the 2nd round. I managed to take 5 points off him though and I think Sam took another point off him as well.

    2. Who took the 1 point off him?

  3. I can join the 20-0 by Pete Club as well. So everyone Pete played finished in the top half. Not a bad performance by the victims of Pete since we were playing out of only 80 battle points.

  4. Long time fan of this site and Skaven in general, but I have to ask, what is your recipe for 20-0 with Skaven. I find that they are good at getting marginal victories, but very seldom obliterate their opponents. Any pointers for turning victories into tablings?

    2. You're right. Generally I find Skaven are lucky to get an average of 15 pts/game over an event. This time I went with a lot of MMs to make sure I could finish off chaff.

Also I flooded the centre with lots of very cheap units which means I got flanks etc

You are obviously doing something right
