Specialist Games Gone?

There are some rumours doing the rounds that Games Workshop are indicating the end of Specialist Games. The story appears to be that they are running out current stocks but these will not be replaced.

So if you play Bloodbowl, Necromunda, Mordheim, Battlefleet Gothic, Inquisitor, Warmaster or Epic now might be the time to make your purchases. Once stocks are gone eBay might be your only source.

I'm disappointed if this is true as I love the Mordheim models and try to include them in my armies wherever possible. My Vampires, Skaven and Empire all have Mordheim models sprinkled through them.

I'm wondering why, if this is correct, GW would go down this route. Given they are all Direct Only you would think the infrastructure to support them isn't large.

  1. I really hope not as i only just discovered how awesome battle fleet gothic is. I also grew up playing Necromunda and have introduced Mordheim to my group of friends.

    Dark days indeed...

  3. I have just been through the Tactical Command forum and there is nothing I can find to substantiate your claims. Where are you getting your information from?

  5. The rumour is that it's all in a lead up to sell the company. How this would fit in I don't know unless they intend to sell the specialist games seperatly??. 5mm Epic, blood bowl, mordhiem etc... would make for a pretty strong base to start a new company. All conjecture at this stage.
