NZ Warhammer Whats App Group

Last week a Whats App group was created for NZ Warhammer players.

It gets around some of the limitations of Twitter (character count, security etc).

If you are interested in joining the group download the app for your mobile device and drop me a text (email for number if required).

So far it has been pretty freeform but there has been discussion of ongoing tournament scene, gaming alternatives to AoS, some playtest discussions and so on.

  1. Hi, I'm a long time lurker and it's a great blog Mr. Dunn. First off a little background, I live in the US but am from and spend a considerable amount of time in Denmark, so I've gotten to witness that I am far from the only one who is a little perturbed or disappointed with the Age of Sigmar rule set or lack thereof. Resulting in people staying with 8th which is great for me as I love that game. However I can also see some potential in the new game, besides the blatantly obvious potential for abuse. Then I came across an initiative recently by some of those crazy swedes and Danes which uses an algorithm they came up with to translate all the stats and damage etc into a points cost for units which scales with their damage increase and all that depending on unit size because of all the bonuses to hit and what have you. So I must admit it actually got me interested in trying out AoS for the first time as it seems to bring some much needed structure and a semblance of balance to a game which in my opinion sorely needs it. It also adds some other rules such as army list structure through the recognizable hero / infantry / war machine / monster % a la 8th edition. Long story short I just wanted to share this with you as I unfortunately believe it is up to us (the global community) to try and salvage what we can from a very bare bones game through sharing ideas and together come up with something better.
